The Minnesota Zoo houses three large indoor event locations to accommodate groups of many sizes. For larger celebrations, two or more of our event spaces can be combined to create an even larger celebration area. Our three enchanting spaces are available for private rental after Zoo operating hours.

- Discovery Bay
Discovery Bay offers a breathtaking setting in which to celebrate. Soft lighting throughout this beautiful space illuminates the two magnificent marine habitats which frame the room. At one end your guests will marvel at the beauty of the Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and at the other end they will view the Zoo’s impressive shark collection. Framed between these two magnificent aquariums is space for your reception area, dance floor and the Zoo’s two touch tanks featuring sting rays and small sharks. This dramatic setting provides your guests with a truly unique and memorable experience.
 

- The Tropics
Set at the beginning of the Zoo’s Tropical Forest, the Tropics features an exotic setting among the rare animals and lush plants native to Southeast Asia. The use of this space includes privileged access to the Zoo’s Tropics Trail. As you and your guests stroll along this winding trail you will encounter free-flight birds, the Komodo dragon, hundreds of species of fish in the Zoo’s famed coral reef exhibit and creatures of the night in the Zoo’s nocturnal habitat. As you finish your tour of the Zoo’s tropical forest you will arrive back at your private event area. With dramatically high ceilings and soothing forest sounds, this amazing setting also includes an adjoining terrace overlooking the Zoo’s main lake.
 

- The Call of the Wild Café
This charming celebration area features floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows overlooking the Zoo’s main lake and includes ample space for a reception area and dance floor. During the warmer months your guests may be tempted to stroll outdoors on the expansive terrace and enjoy a moonlit sky shimmering on the water below or witness beautiful summer sunsets as you watch Trumpeter swans glide across the water.
